A healthy meal is a basic right of a child.

However, when a family does not have money for basic food and shelter, education is an added expense that they cannot afford. It is then that a nutritious mid-day meal becomes the reason for many poor families to send their children to school.

Let’s bring our children back to school. The Akshaya Patra Foundation brings nutritious, tasty food to these schools so that children don’t go hungry.

The food is cooked in centralized kitchens and the program is implemented across schools in partnership with the government of India. Almost 1.5 million children in 12 states are provided mid-day meals on every school day.

Your donations can provide healthy meals to children in a government or government aided school.

We urge you to donate generously as this may be the only good meal the child will eat in a day.
